To boldly go where no manic pixie dream girl has gone before.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
What Comes Next [ Mar 18, 2024 ]
The war is over, but This Means War has a ways to go. Novo Paolo/Bubbleopolis is still in a nebula/stellar nursery, no one knows what happened to the planet Sharen (center of the Intergalactic Council), and the status of the now-surrendered Invaders is yet to be resolved. What will they do when they learn their homeworld is basically destroyed? Will Alyss and Li be re-united? How about Diana (the real one) and Otto?
These questions will be resolved in the next few weeks, before This Means War part 3 wraps in late May.
After that, I plan to go BACK in time about 400 years, to when Alyss and Li left their home in the Sol System to colonize a new world on the far side of the galaxy. As one might expect, hijinks ensue. New subtitle yet to be determined, start date sometime in around the start of July. Stay tuned!
Panel 1
Hugo and Murphy continue down the corridor. Zombies walk by, still ignoring them.
Murphy: This is creepy as fuck.
Hugo: There doesn't seem to be any locus here. No control center.
Hugo: This doesn't make any sense.
Panel 2
They are standing near something that looks like an alcove within a great junction box, with a flashy-lighty panel. It has a recess in it large enough to insert a hand.
Muphy: Yeah. Why transmat us over here and then ignore us?
Hugo: Maybe I should risk interfacing with their network.
Murphy: Are you sure? It's probably advanced beyond the others'.
Panel 3
Hugo stands in the alcove, his hand inserted into the recess. His eyes are white.
Murphy: So, what are you seeing, Hugo?
Murphy: Can you get a schematic of the ship?
Murphy: Which way should we go?
Panel 4
Looking a bit down the corridor at Murphy as she notices the zombies standing on either side of the corridor, their backs against the walls, all pointing up the corridor. Hugo has disengaged from the alcove.
Hugo: That way.
Panel 5
Rear view of Hugo and Murphy walking along a corridor past pointing zombies. At the far end is a glowing fog, in which a dark human-sized form is barely visible. 'Present-Murphy' narrates from a cameo panel:
Present-Murphy: We walked on in silence for almost 5,000 seconds. Hugo seemed even more distracted than usual.
Past-Murphy: Well, looks like something different up ahead.
Panel 6
Hugo and Murphy in the foreground flank the full figure in the background emerging from the fog.
Murphy: Who -?
Hugo: That face -!
