To boldly go where no manic pixie dream girl has gone before.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
What Comes Next [ Mar 18, 2024 ]
The war is over, but This Means War has a ways to go. Novo Paolo/Bubbleopolis is still in a nebula/stellar nursery, no one knows what happened to the planet Sharen (center of the Intergalactic Council), and the status of the now-surrendered Invaders is yet to be resolved. What will they do when they learn their homeworld is basically destroyed? Will Alyss and Li be re-united? How about Diana (the real one) and Otto?
These questions will be resolved in the next few weeks, before This Means War part 3 wraps in late May.
After that, I plan to go BACK in time about 400 years, to when Alyss and Li left their home in the Sol System to colonize a new world on the far side of the galaxy. As one might expect, hijinks ensue. New subtitle yet to be determined, start date sometime in around the start of July. Stay tuned!
Panel 1
The Ha'arock is gliding into a 'slip' – a smaller bay with pressure and a landing pad, the opening covered with a force-field.
Caption: A short while later:
Eithne (from ship): Finally! I can't wait to stretch my legs.
Ralf (from ship): I'm afraid you'll need to stay on board.
Panel 2
Eithne does not like that, and turns angrily towards Ralf.
Eithne: WHAT!! That's ridiculous.
Ralf: By now half the quadrant is on alert, looking for you.
Eithne: Oh yeah? What about you?
Panel 3
Ralf is standing by his seat, stretching his core a bit.
Ralf: I'm just another K'Tagon. There are many thousands like me in the border areas.
Ralf: But you, you're unique. The only 'human' anyone's seen in this galaxy.
Ralf: You'll be spotted within a hundred seconds.
Panel 4
Eithne follows Ralf as he walks towards the rear of the cruiser.
Eithne: I'll go insane if I have to stay cooped-up in here all the time!
Eithne: Maybe I can wear a disguise! Surely we can put something together here, the same way we 'replicated' these clothes!
Panel 5
Ralf pauses, looking Eithne up and down with an artist's eye. She's looking back at him dubiously.
Ralf: Hmmm. Quite possibly. With the right fabrics, a few prosthetics ...
Ralf: I'll have to take some precise measurements, if you please.
Panel 6
A transformed Eithne looks at her image in a tall viewscreen. Ralf looks on with satisfaction. Eithne looks like a two-legged warthog.
Ralf: Your own mother wouldn't recognize you.
Eithne: I hope not. This is embarrassing.
