Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Bok: You're the last person I expected to find out here.
Alyss: You'll find I'm full of surprises.
Alyss: But right now we need to keep moving.

Alyss leads Bok and Zander through the forest.
Alyss: Things are getting very bad, very quickly.
Alyss: Zander's safe-house was one of several that were raided.
Alyss: I only just got out of my own place without being seen.
