Quantum Vibe

A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Quantum Vibe: This Means War (Part 1) - By Scott Bieser

Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]

The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.

Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.

(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)

Thanks to all for supporting this Kickstarter!

Transcript For Strip 1267

Panel 1
Alyss leads the kids into a luxurious living room.
Bok: You must have really high social status here.
Alyss: I suppose so. But more importantly, I'm rich.
Diana: Oh, so I guess you like to go slumming on worlds like Zytemode?
Panel 2
Alyss, Diana and Zander. Diana is still being cranky.
Alyss: Slumming? Not at all. Studying.
Diana: Interfering, more like it.
Zander: Uh, Alyss? I wonder if I could ask you ...
Panel 3
Alyss and Zander.
Alyss: You can always ask, Zander.
Zander: Could I see your city again? With my own eyes, I mean.
Zander: Not through a monitor screen.
Panel 4
Alyss leads the kids up some stairs.
Alyss: Sure thing, kiddo.
Alyss: There's an observation balcony. I don't use it much.
Alyss: I'm a bit agoraphobic.
Panel 5
Alyss and the kids are looking out past a railing at the wondrous space-megapolis.
Bok: What … what do you call this … place?
Alyss: It has lots of names. Bubbleopolis, France, Novo Paolo, Kūchū Rōkaku ...

Panel 6
Reverse angle to look at Alyss and the kids. The kids are gazing in wonderment, but Alyss is looking at the kids.
Alyss: … but my favorite is 'Oz.'
Bok: I like 'Oz.'
Zander: What the heck's a 'France'?
Alyss: To explain 'France' I'd have to explain 'Coneheads,' and I'm not sure I can.
