A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Dorothy confronts the boys. Bok has recovered enough to resume his snark mode. Zander looks guilty as hell.
Dorothy: So, both the prodigal sons have returned! It's a twofer.
Bok: Oh, hi, Aunt Dorothy. We were just talking about you.
Zander: Um, that is ...
Dorothy, Bok and Zander.
Dorothy: So where'n hell have you been, anyway? Zan'er, your parents think yer dead, you know.
Dorothy: 's late now. Jus' bunk here with Bok an' you can call 'em inna morning.
Dorothy turns to go back into her room. Bok smiles sweetly as he points to the right.
Bok: Good idea. But I hope you don't mind if I look in on Dad, eh?
Dorothy: Whadever. Jus' don' wake him.
Bok: Oh, I won't. Good night.
