A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1In the Causa Sui control room. As the alien convo continues, Eithne thoughtsends with Hugo.
Alien (OP): Fpbbt-fpbbt brrt-pbpbpbpbpb pbbt-pffft! Brrrt-pfbbbt fbbbt ...
Eithne (thoughtsend): I can't follow this. Could you send me that translation matrix?
Hugo (thoughtsend): Very well, but let Murphy do the talking.
Panel 2
From now on, the conversation is presented in English, although the characters are still speaking the alien language.
Looking past our trio at the aliens.
Alien: We were concerned that you are orbiting near one of our security stations.
Murphy: It was accident. We did not see your station until shortly before you came.
Murphy: It is … ah … very quiet and dark.
Panel 3
Cut to exterior view, the Alien ship standing off from the Causa Sui.
Alien (from its ship): Then why are you orbiting this planet? Why are you in our system?
Murphy (from Causa Sui) : As I said, we are explorers. We have not seen your kind before.
Murphy: For safety, we chose to listen from a distance, to learn about you.
Panel 4
Closer two-shot on Murphy and Eithne, who is wearing her I-told-you-so face.
Aliens: So you were spying on us?
Murphy: We were … cautious. We want to know if you are … naughty or nice?
Murphy: We mean no harm, and think … thought we would frighten you if we … presented ourselves too quick … quickly.

Show the viewscreen with the Aliens in it.
Alien: We will accept that your intentions are peaceful.
Alien: We invite you now to be escorted to Pbbtptlptl-pbpbt, our colony in this system.
Alien: There we can learn more about one another.
Panel 6
Three-shot of our trio, looking apprehensive.
Murphy (thoughtsend): Was that the sort of invitation we could gracefully refuse?
Hugo (thoughtsend): I'm not certain, but it doesn't seem likely.
Murphy: We could jump away now, and ruin this chance to establish friendly relations …
Eithne (thoughtsend): … Or go with them and risk getting … gassed?
