To boldly go where no manic pixie dream girl has gone before.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
External view of Causa Sui with the galaxy in the background.
CP (from CS): If I hadn't seen this with my own four eyes I would not believe it.
Hugo: Remember, some time has passed, even though we did not subjectively experience it.
Panel 2
Inside the observation area, Murphy, Hugo and CP. CP is still gazing out the window in wonder.
Murphy: We should return now to Brrrbtpff.
CP: It would take our fastest ships hundreds of days to journey this far.
Hugo: As my Captain says, time to return ...
Panel 3
Suddenly we see the planet in the window again. The Pbbttppbt-fff can be seen off to one side.
CP: Amazing! And how much time has passed?
Hugo: Contact your ship and ask them.
Murphy (thoughtsend): Hugo! When they find out that ...
Panel 4
CP is touching her badge as Hugo and Murphy look on.
CP: Pbbbbbbbt to Pbbttppbt-fff! Commander Fptfptbrrt, how long were we away?
Badge: By our sensors, exactly 7.62 decints, Captain.
CP: Thank you, commander, stand by to transmat me back to the ship.
Panel 5
CP turns to face Murphy and Hugo.
CP: I must take my leave of you for now, but I hope we can visit more in the near future.
Murphy: Of course. We are interested in learning more about your culture and history.
Murphy (thoughtsend): And I want to know how you pulled off this trick, Hugo.
Panel 6
As Murphy and Hugo stand back, CP beams away.
SFX: EEERRRRMMMMMMMMM
Hugo: She's likely going to make a report of these events to her government.
Murphy: Agreed. And we need to discuss whether we want to stick around.
