Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter Success! [ May 13, 2025 ]
The Not-Safe-Space 2 Kickstarter Campaign has ended successfully. Thanks to all who pledged!
Now we get to wait 2 weeks while Kickstarter transmits the funds, and Scott can order the books, and send surveys to backers to get current e-mail addresses for the .PDF versions and mailing addresses for the physical books.
All of this should show up in June.
Transcript For Strip 1600
Panel 1Every panel on this page is a wide-angle shot of BrrrptBrrrft, Eithne and Pbpbzzzftt. Eithne is confined to a chair, although we can't see much below her waist. In the first panel, BrrrptBrrrft is placing an electrode-crown on Eithne's head.
BB: Watch this: we'll get everything just from the electro-sponge and then that'll be it.
P: The sponge will extract the data we need, honey. Best not to resist it ...
Panel 2A
Camera trucked in slightly: Sparks fly out of Eithne's head. It looks really painful.
SFX: ZORCH!
BB: Ha! We might get some entertainment out of this after all.
P: Oh dear! Please just relax, sweetie.
Panel 2B
Camera trucked in slightly more: B removes the electro-crown, leaving Eithne's head smouldering. She looks bedraggled
BB: Nothing! Well, we have more interesting methods.
P: It's only going to get worse, honey!
Panel 3A
Similar shot, but now Eithne is tied spread-eagle on a large X-frame. We're zoomed in to just above her bustline, we only see her arms splayed out on either side of her.
BB: Ok, tell us how you contact your CUSH masters.
Eithne: I've told you, we've had no contact with the CUSH.
Panel 3B
Eithne grimmaces in sudden agony. The reader is left to imagine what they're doing to her.
Eithne: HNNNNNNGGGHHH
P: Please cooperate, honey! It's really for the best.
Panel 4A
The questioning continues.
BB: Alright, then tell us where your partners ran off to. Where is your base?
Eithne: I … honestly I don't know!
Panel 4B
More agony.
Eithne: AAAAAAAAAAA
P: I can't help you if you don't work with us, Enya.
Panel 5A
With Agent Ppppbbthshpt in the lead, the two muscle-men are dragging Eithne back down the corridor to her cell.
Caption: After another two hundred kiloseconds or so of data aquisition:
Panel 5B
The muscle-men toss Eithne like a rag doll, onto the bunk in her cell.
No dialog
Panel 6
Eithne is lying mostly prone on her bunk. Her face is close to us and we can see her eyes barely open. Behind her, the muscle-men are departing.
Eithne (thought): I seriously gotta get the flaming fuck out of here.
