A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1Kempadoo uses her height advantage over Diana to intimidate.
Kempadoo: You waited for 15 hours to report your apartment break-in and have been avoiding us that whole time.
Kempadoo: WHY?
Diana: Uh … because … because ...
Panel 2
Diana finds her courage, despite herself. She stands straight, arms crossed. Agents Tieman and Verdana look taken aback, but Kempadoo just looks angrier.
Diana: Because I don't trust you people!
Kempadoo: Oh, you don't? Why not? We're your assurance agency, too.
Panel 3
Diana is trying to choose her words carefully. Kempadoo glowers at her.
Diana: Because … it's connected to a confidential investigation we're doing.
Diana: And I'm pretty sure our contract with you guys does not require us to divulge confidential information related to our business.
Kempadoo: Perhaps it doesn't.
Panel 4
Kempadoo grabs Diana's right wrist (her zringer hand, holding it aloft). Agents Tieman and Verdana are even more taken aback.
Diana: HEY!
Kempadoo: But I will find out what I need to know and if that violates the contract you can take me to arbitration later.
