Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Alex is sitting up in a bed in a room somewhat dingy but filthy. He's looking around, his hands still bound at the wrists. Zondra is sitting in a chair nearby.
Alex: Huh. So you've transferred me to a somewhat better cell. I think.
Zondra: Don't be that way, Alex. You don't know what I've been through.
Panel 2
Alex laughs.
Alex: HAW!!!
Alex: What YOU'VE been through?
Zondra: Just listen to me for a minute, will you?
Panel 3
Alex and Zondra.
Zondra: One of my other, ah, clients is an executive with Gatefield Partners.
Alex: They're part of the Intergalactic Consortium?
Zondra: The same. And he talked in his sleep, so ...
Panel 4
Alex and Zondra.
Alex: Well, I guess as idiots go, I'm in fairly high-flying company. How much did you stick him for?
Zondra: Alex, this is not about me, it's about your future and the future of the city.
Zondra: You have to trust me.
