Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
What Comes Next [ Mar 18, 2024 ]
The war is over, but This Means War has a ways to go. Novo Paolo/Bubbleopolis is still in a nebula/stellar nursery, no one knows what happened to the planet Sharen (center of the Intergalactic Council), and the status of the now-surrendered Invaders is yet to be resolved. What will they do when they learn their homeworld is basically destroyed? Will Alyss and Li be re-united? How about Diana (the real one) and Otto?
These questions will be resolved in the next few weeks, before This Means War part 3 wraps in late May.
After that, I plan to go BACK in time about 400 years, to when Alyss and Li left their home in the Sol System to colonize a new world on the far side of the galaxy. As one might expect, hijinks ensue. New subtitle yet to be determined, start date sometime in around the start of July. Stay tuned!
Panel 1
Daskalov and Otto are now on opposite sides of the bed. Daskalov is applying a micro-scalpel to one side of the patient's face. Otto is standing by with an empty tray.
Daskalov: It's been almost two whole cycles since the Gran Raio.
Daskalov: By now we should be able to change bandages without anesthetizing her.
Otto: 'By now?' Jeez, how much burn did she have coming in here?
Panel 2
Daskalov drops some bandage cuttings in the tray.
Daskalov: Almost total. The front side of her looked like cooked bacon.
Daskalov: The back side was melted into the wreck of a flyer she was found in.
Daskalov: Worst burn case I've ever seen someone survive.
Panel 3
Daskalov is reaching around the sides of the bandaged head, her arm blocking part of the patient's exposed face
Daskalov: We think the blast hit while she was in one of the spheres adjacent to Villa-Lobos, the instant she entered a junction matrix.
Daskalov: Now, if Robin put these on correctly, I should just be able to lift the rest of this off, like so ...
Panel 4
Revers view to show Daskalov placing the remaining bandages in the tray Otto is holding. Otto's mouth is agape, his eyes saucers – he is clearly shocked by what he sees.
Daskalov: Now, after I've had a chance to ...
Daskalov: Otto, I told you this would be shocking. Do you need a bucket?
