Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Cut to: Exterior, entrance to the local Callahan's Bar Y Parilla
Caption: That evening:
Lester (from inside): Is that all you're having to eat?
Panel 2
Inside, looking downward at Diana and Lester at their table. A small chrysanthemum in a skinny vase decorates. Diana has a small plate with a few specks of food on it; Lester has a bigger plate holding a half-rack of pork ribs, smothered in sauce, a mostly-eaten blob of potato salad, and a bit of something that looks like steamed okra. He's munching on another rib at the moment.
Diana: That's all, thank you. I'm afraid I'm a very light eater.
Diana: Now, you mentioned something about a gateway?
Panel 3
Diana watches as Lester glances about in several directions.
Lester (soto voce) : Keep your voice down, ok?
Lester: You must swear to me that nothing I'm about to say leaves this table.
Panel 4
Both are speaking soto voce
Diana: I'll keep quiet but I can't speak for the chrysanthemum. It looks sketchy .
