Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Otto: Thank you, doctor.
Otto: I think I'm ready to take the exam for a nurse shingle.
Daskalov: You should do quite well, I think ...
Otto and Daskalov
Daskalov: … but you really should go the full-physician track.
Otto: What, really?
Daskalov: I'll sponsor your admission if you like.
Otto is so excited he loses focus on what he's doing.
Otto: Doctor, that's … I don't know what to say!
Daskalov: You're going to be apologizing all over the place if you lose focus and hurt the patient.
