Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
A column of soldiers marches towards a displacer portal. Above them, the flying armored vehicles pop-out via their onboard displacers.
Caption: As foot-soldiers march through the captured displacer network towards their selected destinations, armored carriers pop towards the various spheres via their on-board displacers.
Panel 2
In a public concourse, soldiers pour in through a pair of portals, surprising the nearby citizens.
Caption: The foot-soldiers disperse through public portals in the various spheres.
Caption: The citizens gawk but don’t know how to respond at this point.
Panel 3
At a junction matrix, armored vehicles pop-in around the junction, blocking local craft seeking to pass through.
Caption: The junction matrices are not tied to the portal network, but as critical infrastructure, are quickly captured by invading ‘Snappers.’
Panel 4
Cut back to Mordy and Heidelberg at the Rainbow portal
Heidelberg: This could go a lot faster if we just used the portals to walk into the prime targets.
Mordy: Those network nodes are protected by coded lock-outs. We’ll have to take those places the hard way.
