A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Alyss: AND NOTHING'S READY!

Alyss continues on the phone:
Alyss: The sets are a shambles!
Alyss: The new lights haven't been unpacked! The cast is still sleeping off the last wrap party!
Alyss: What the hell am I paying you people for?

Alyss is suddenly deflated.

Alyss: You haven't been paid since last February?
Alyss: Oh.
