Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Nicole and Seamus and their luggage emerge from a corridor into a busy, open concourse.
Nicole: So, what do you think?
Seamus: I think someone tried to take a peek but didn't have time to get at the goods before I raised an alarum.
Panel 2
Nicole and Seamus approach a taxi stand.
Nicole: What if they'd been fast enough?
Seamus: Then I'd have to write off those projects.
Panel 3
The board a cab, which is a bit larger than its egg-shaped counterpart on Mercury. More passenger room, moves about on four impellers rather than magnetism.
Seamus: By the time we've completed the … project I hired you for, we'd be seeing grav sensors and electro-shields for sale in every shopfront.
Panel 4
The cab rises into the traffic lanes, which have a mix of sedan-sized flyers, personal Bubbs like Nicole's, and some freight carriers.
Nicole (from cab): Why lug this gear around, then?
Seamus: To test it, and because … I'll tell you later.
