Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1
Otto sits back, somewhat stunned.
Diana: I can’t give you what you seem to want.
Otto: But, why? I’ve saved your life, twice! Doesn’t that mean anything?
Panel 2
Diana takes Otto’s hand in both of hers.
Diana: Otto, I am grateful. And I hope we’ll always be friends.
Diana: But, you’re a sensitive soul and it would be a mistake to take you to bed out of gratitude.
Otto: But … but ...
Panel 3
Diana braces Otto
Diana: Otto, sexual attraction is not based on gratitude, it’s not based on a sense of a debt owed.
Diana: It isn’t rational, and really, it isn’t fair.
Diana: It either happens, or it doesn’t.
Panel 4
Otto sits there, looking crushed.
Diana: I mean, your family is rich.
Diana: And I have to start over almost from scratch.
Diana: If I were a dishonest person I’d tell you I want you and live off your family fortune.
Panel 5
Diana and Otto
Diana: But you’d figure out the truth sooner or later.
Diana: Otto, you’re young, good-looking, and have a bright future.
Diana: Someday you’ll find your true love, and you’ll be much happier.
Panel 6
Otto has gotten up and moves toward the door. Diana looks after him, sadly.
Otto: Como desexes. I should go now.
Otto: Good luck getting your life back together.
