Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Nicole, Li and Brie are seated at the table in the breakfast nook as a freshly-scrubbed but quite somber Warren appears in the doorway.
Nicole: Take your seat, Warren.
Nicole: We have things to discuss.
Panel 2
Now everyone is seated in their places.
Li: So, did you accomplish your mission?
Warren: Mission?
Li: To see Candace and confess your feelings to her.
Panel 3
Warren blushes hard, eyes like saucers
Warren: I saw her, but … she kind of hates me now.
Panel 4
Warren and Nicole
Nicole: Mijo, rejection stings but it’s part of life.
Nicole: But it shouldn’t take extreme measures just to have a conversation with a friend. Or an ex-friend.
Panel 5
Warren and Nicole Warren brightens
Nicole: So! I’ve been in touch with Alexandra and we are going to set up a weekly social event and invite all the families in the valley to join us.
Warren: Wow, really? Awesome!
Panel 6
Li and Warren, Warren glum
Li: In the meantime, you are going to spend extra time in your studies this week until you catch up, do some extra chores here, and you’re going to write a 2,000 word essay on why sneaking off and not telling us where you’re going is a really bad idea.
Warren: Oh, unh.
