Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1Re-establish scene: Nicole and Buford still sitting at their card table.
Nicole: Rather than pay your fine, your parents are letting you rot in this cage?
Nicole: Man, that's harsh.
Buford: Boppa said he wanted to teach me a lesson.

Closer 2-shot on Nicole and Buford.
Nicole: You got to talk to him?
Buford: Actually, to my Bomba. I called her after my arrest, and she explained it all to me.

Nicole looks surprised.
Nicole: They let you make a tel call? When?
Buford: Shortly after I got here. Haven't you made your call?
Nicole: I woke up this morning in a medi-vat.

Nicole: I -- I'm not sure how I got there. Or why I was arrested.
Nicole: No one told me anything about a tel call.
Buford: Girl, you must'fe seriously pissed someone off.
