Quantum Vibe

A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Transcript For Strip 442

Panel 1
Just then, Tong Xie-Po calls out from the crowd. Seamus and the guests with him turn to look at Tong. (We don't see Ventura or Nicole in this frame.)
Tong: Dr. O'Murchadha! Glad you could make it!

Panel 2
Tong emerges from the crowd to greet Seamus. Ma Bo-Nu is with him, and their retinue of accessories trails along behind them.
Tong: It is good to see you again, O'Murchadha. It has been many years.
Seamus: Since the deaths of Po Xu-Ke's sisters, as I recall. Terrible tragedy.

Panel 3
Tong, with Ma beside him, suddenly notice Ventura standing beside Seamus.
Tong: You must introduce us to your ... uh ...
Ma: What!

Panel 4
Two-shot of Ma and Tong, the latter jabbing his elbow into the former's ribs.
Ma: Hey, she looks just like --- ut!
Tong: A very classic and rare android model, O'Murchadha. Where did you find her?

Panel 5
Seamus, eying Tong very carefully as he responds airily. Nicole is still blushing over her earlier gaffe. Ventura looks calm as usual.
Seamus: Oh, some 2nd-hand shop near our hotel. Just a rental, really.
Seamus: But I should introduce my other escort, Ms. Nicole Oreme: The first female mouth ... I mean, Sun-Shooter.

Panel 6
Tong recovers his composure and bows crisply, as Ma rubs his bruised ribs.
Tong: Charmed, I'm sure.
Tong: Dr. O'Murchadha, I was hoping that before the party gets too busy that you could join me in my drawing room for a -- private discussion.

Panel 7
Seamus begins to depart with Tong, but Nicole looks at him anxiously.
Seamus: As you wish, my dear Tong.
Nicole (thoughtsend): Seamus! What are you doing? I don't know what to say to these people!

Panel 8
Seamus glances over his shoulder towards Nicole as he walks away. She looks back with trepidation.
Seamus (thoughtsend): Obviously. Open a link to Ventura, and she can guide you.
Seamus (thoughtsend): And do please remember this is no place for unguarded comments.
