Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1
In a circular room, Seamus and Shen, with the security team fanned out around them, approach a kiosk with consoles on opposite sides.
Shen: You have all the relevant specifications and data?
Seamus: Of course. You have the funding?
Panel 2
Seamus and Shen stand on opposing sides of the kiosk, pulling out their personal Screens. The security team surrounds Shen, but one of them keeps his eyes on Seamus.
Shen: Of course. I will load it into the escrow account now.
Seamus: Likewise. So I've been wondering ... if they're disarmed, how will the commoners defend themselves against predators?
Panel 3
Seamus and Shen place their Screens, against the consoles.
Shen: That's what the peacekeepers are for.
Seamus: I was told the peacekeepers are for keeping the general peace and have no legal duty to defend commoners or their property. Is that not true?
Panel 4
Seamus and Shen, Shen starting to look irritated.
Shen: It is ... not practical for the peacekeepers to have such a legally-enforceable duty.
Shen: You ask a lot of questions, Dr. O'Murchadha.
Seamus: That's how I get answers, Mr. Peng-Bo.
