Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
In the left foreground, in realspace, Murphy and Nicole sit looking entranced. In the background, Nigel and Buford are sitting on the other bed, watching them.
Nigel: How much of a risk is Murphy really taking?
Buford: I don't know, but she's usually not prone to exaggerate.
Panel 2
Two-shot of Nigel and Buford. Nigel looks troubled.
Nigel: I … she seems to be going to great lengt's to help strangers.
Buford: She's not doing t'is for you, she's doing it for me.
Buford: She feels she owes me a debt.
Panel 3
Nigel looks at Buford inquiringly.
Nigel: A debt? For what?
Buford: I … well, on Huoxing I caught a baseline starting to rape her, and ... I stopped him.
Nigel: Couldn't she defend herself? She seems quite capable …
Buford: On Huoxing arti-folk are property, and can't defend themselfs.
Panel 4
Nigel looks thoughtful.
Nigel: Our kind were 'property' once.
Nigel: Maybe it's past time Huoxing had a revolution.
Buford: Yeah, well, sometimes revolution begins at home.
