Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Satrapi's office. Seamus, Adileh, Murphy.
Adileh: So you've probably been wondering how a famous math and finance wiz ended up running a brothel in the ass-end of nowhere.
Murphy: Well, I wouldn't put it quite that way, but yes.
Panel 2
Medium shot of Adileh.
Adileh: For a few decades, I was content building my financial-services business on the augram platform.
Adileh: But after my first full-rejuve, I found that I'd grown bored, and stale. I wanted a new challenge, something different.
Adileh: Everyone was abuzz about developments in the Jovian System, so I came here to check it out. I found a different sort of challenge than I expected.
Panel 3
Flashback scene: Adileh on the streets (underground concourse, really) of an earlier, more primitive Ganymede settlement. Everyone around her is male and not looking happy. She gets quite a few leers.
Adileh (thought): Holy crap, aren't there any women?
Adileh: I feel like a caged bird in a house full of cats.
Panel 4
Adileh in a bar chatting up the bartender.
Adileh: Where are the women on this moon?
Bartender: If you're looking for women you've come to th' wrong rock, lady.
