Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
QV on a short break [ Jul 15, 2026 ]
QUANTUM VIVE is taking a break for a few weeks, as we prepare for Part 2 of the Novo Palermo story, and also for a Kickstarter campaign for Part 1, which will start in September.
In the meantime, Not-Safe.Space will continue, as a murder mystery begins and the relationship between Eithne and Diana develops in unexpected directions.
Not-Safe.Space is a NSFW strip but more than half the pages are SFW so I've set those to *not* require a Patreon membership. Readers should be able to follow the story without seeing the NSFW pages. If I've done this right.
Transcript For Strip 815
Panel 1The students have rushed to Li, who is laying on his side, in agony. Nicole is pulling Murphy away so she can chew her out. Murphy looks stunned.
Nicole: What the shuck, Murphy? Have you lost your mind?
Panel 2
Two-shot of Murphy and Nicole. Murphy is still stunned, Nicole is enraged.
Murphy: I … I thought he … I thought you …
Nicole: You weren't thinking, you stupid bucket of bolts!
Nicole: You're angry because you can't have Seamus and you took it out on poor Li!
Panel 3
Nicole pushes Murphy away to walk towards Li as a student carrying a pair of long poles rushes past them.
Murphy: No, I ...
Nicole: Just stay away from me!
Panel 4
Nicole kneels beside the supine Li. The poles have been laid along either side of him. One of the students has a medi-kit and is giving him a hypo-shot.
Nicole: Oh Li, I'm so sorry!
Li: Not your fault {gasp!}
Li: But this is not exactly the way I want you to … unh … remember me.
Panel 5
One of the students touches a button at the end of each of the poles, and a lozenge-shaped bubb materializes around Li. The area over his head and torso remain open.
Nicole: I won't leave you now, Li.
Li: But you must. You have important work to do, as do I.
Li: We will meet again after the hard work is done, and enjoy a lot more time together.
Panel 6
Two of the students lift the bubb with Li in it, like a stretcher. But he raises a hand to stop them. Nicole is surprised by what he says next.
Li: Wait. I must have a word with the gynoid.
Student: Yes, master.
Panel 7
Nicole, still angry with Murphy, stands a few meters away as a shaken Murphy stands beside Li's gurney-bubb.
Li: I want you to know, first of all, that I forgive you. I understand what anger does.
Li: But you must also forgive yourself.
Panel 8
Closer two-shot of Murphy and Li. Murphy looks like she'd be crying if she could.
Li: Promise me you'll look after her, bring her back to me safe. She's more precious than words can describe.
Murphy: I … I promise.
