Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

The Not-Safe-Space 2 Kickstarter Campaign has ended successfully. Thanks to all who pledged!
Now we get to wait 2 weeks while Kickstarter transmits the funds, and Scott can order the books, and send surveys to backers to get current e-mail addresses for the .PDF versions and mailing addresses for the physical books.
All of this should show up in June.

Panel 1In the dining area aboard the Cissonius, Nicole and Pearl Arthur sit at a table as the android chef we saw a few strips back, Miz Beazley, is warming their coffee. They have desert plates, partly eaten, in front of them. Nicole has a melancholy look about her.
Caption: The dining deck:
Nicole: So I've often had weird dreams, but a few of them have been, well, prophetic.
Nicole: Like, when that fool Philbert ran out on me.

Nicole: Or when those uniformed thugs on Luna caged and … and tortured me.
Nicole: The night before I left L-5 City I dreamt of being kidnapped and held for ransom.

Pearl: You dreamt this would happen on Luna?
Nicole: No … well, I'm not sure. The location in the dream was vague. But the faces … and some of the other details ...

Pearl: Surely you don't actually believe in prophetic dreams.
Nicole: No-no, I'm a naturalist, through and through. But I can't honestly deny the dreams happened.

Pearl: So you were talking about a new dream you've had that's troubling you?
Nicole: Yeah … it was … it was like I was living through the Calamities.
Nicole: A great darkness spread all over everything, and every one.

Pearl is intrigued.
Pearl: The Calamities! That was four and a half centuries ago!
Nicole: Yeah, and I was on Terra, too. I think. Not sure what city.
Nicole: But people were starving, and there was rioting and martial law.

Pearl: I've seen the docu-vids, haven't you? It was a horrible time.
Nicole: Sure, I saw them. But … well, the dream didn't feel like one of those vids.
Nicole: It was a lot more visceral … a constant fear of immanent death.

Pearl: Lots of people have nightmares about the Calamities, after seeing the vids.
Nicole: Yeah, but this one is different.
Nicole: Because I kept hearing Seamus' voice telling me, 'When I say run, run!'
