Story & Art: Scott Bieser - Colors: Lea Jean Badelles Sci-Fi Adventure Monday & Thursday.
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
We Made It! [ Jun 2, 2022 ]
Third try, as they say, is a charm.
The crowdfunding campaign for QUANTUM VIBE: This Means War Part 2 made its goal one day before the closing, and climbed a bit over the top in the final day.
Over the next week Scott will design the back cover and assemble the book pages for printing. We expect to have the printed books (as well as the cards and T-shirts) on hand in the second half of June and will ship them out to backers ASAP.
(The e-book version will also be released by then and we'll announce that date when we have it locked down.)
Once more around the conference table.
Maureen: What about the strike force?
Li: The optimum size for this would be a squad of five trained fighters.
Nicole: Well, we have four right here.
Li and Maureen.
Li: I don't think we can include Maureen, I'm afraid.
Maureen: WHAT? Why not?
Li: I need you to cover for me back at the office.
Li and Maureen, different angle. Li lays a consoling hand on Maureen's arm.
Li: And I don't just mean pushing papers for me.
Li: We will need several days to train and prepare the squad and I need you to … obscure my absence.
Li: You're the only one who can do this.
Murphy and Li, with a dejected Maureen between them.
Murphy: That leaves us three. I am highly skilled in combat, and Nicole is aikidoka.
Li: Aikido is not really optimal for an assault force but it I think we can build on that.
Maureen (softly): If you say so.
Murphy, Maureen, Li, Nicole
Murphy: What of your former fellow … ah, pirates?
Li: I know a few I could ask, but ...
Li: Aside from Mo, who wouldn't be useful, none of them was ever close to Seamus.
Li and Nicole
Li: Any of them would join us if asked, out of loyalty to me.
Li: But I can't in good conscience ask them to take the sort of risk we're taking.
Nicole: Now I'm feeling guilty for bringing you into this.
Li, Nicole and Murphy
Li: Don't feel like that. Seamus saved my life in so many ways, I feel it's an honor to have this opportunity.
Murphy: On that point you and I have a great deal in common.
Maureen, Li and Nicole;
Li: That still leaves the question of filling out our squad.
Li: We could use some extra muscle. Someone strong as a Beltape.
Nicole: Well it just so happens I know a couple of Beltapes who would do anything for Seamus.
