Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Murphy, Nicole, Li, Hugh, Harry, and some of the Boneheads standing around.
Hugh: Ah yes, the 'teleported bomb' problem you were discussing as we arrived.
Bonehead 1: You said you may have a solution?
Panel 2
Hugh paces as he talks, the others follow him.
Hugh: Well, the possibility of a solution, anyway.
Hugh: Murphy tells me Nicole combined my quantum vibremonic theories with electric-plasma field equations …
Panel 3
Hugh pacing the other way, thinking out loud, as the others still follow him.
Hugh: This brings to mind my … er, … Dr. O'Murchadha's notes while he was developing the 'Miyaki Shield.'
Hugh: Ironically, my … his vibremonic theories grew out of that project as a sort of side-track. He never really thought of combining these forces ...
Panel 4
Hugh stops and lays a hand on Nicole's shoulder. The others almost stumble as they stop with him.
Hugh: Therefore I shall forward all those notes to our newest Mad Scientist, Nicole Oresme.
Hugh: I'm sure she will come up with something brilliant.
Nicole: WHAT? ME?
