Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Bok and Zander are now also on their feet, standing next to Diana, facing Alyss.
Bok: A 'super-villain?'
Alyss: Diana is correct in that I've been trying to subvert your society.
Alyss: But I've been careless and as a result I am now indebted to you three, Diana especially.
Panel 2
Diana and Alyss. Alyss is holding up her right hand.
Diana: 'Indebted'?
Alyss: You defended me from that Corbot, which had fried my good hand.
Alyss: Then you and your friends helped me escape certain capture.

The kids notice Alyss's white hand.
Bok: What is that, a loaner? It's the wrong color.
Alyss: Huh? Oh. The pigmentation will come in over the next several hours.
Diana: Too bad. You could have made white-handedness a thing.
