Quantum Vibe

A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Transcript For Strip 1277

Panel 1
Bok and Diana enter a room full of display cases, walls covered with picture frames.
Bok: This is the 'library?'
Diana: That's what it says on the schematic.
Panel 2
Bok and Diana stand before a display case with some sort of weird alien-looking sculpture.
Bok: Do you know what these things are?
Diana: There ought to be a catalog in here somewhere.
Diana: Some of them look pretty old.
Panel 3
Diana is looking at a different case, containing something that looks more Terran.
Diana: Okay, this is a scale model of an ancient Terran space-probe, the first to reach another solar-system.
Diana: Why is this important to her?
Bok: Hey Diana, check this out.
Panel 4
Diana walks over to where Bok is standing, gazing up at a large painting, a full-length portrait of three people.
Bok: Is that Alyss? Just a bit younger?
Diana: Holy crap, Bok! Do you recognize that man?
Bok: Uh, no. He's really tall, though. And is that a gynoid with him?
Panel 5
View from behind Diana and Bok, so we get a good look at the people in the painting.
Diana: If you paid more attention in history class, you'd know.
Diana: That tall guy is Seamus O'Murchadha, the infamous mad scientist and mass murderer.
Diana: The gynoid is most likely his concubine, Murphy.

Panel 6
Reverse view to show Bok and Diana gazing up at the painting.
Bok: Holy crap, Diana! O'Murchadha? Murphy? That means Alyss is really ...
Diana: Nicole Oresme, inventor of the Murphy Drive and Oresme shield! The notorious robber baroness who inflicted capitalism on the universe!
Diana: She really IS a super-villain!
