A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1Alyss and Hayami stroll through the corridors, conversing via thoughtsending.
Hayami: She's quite the handful, isn't she?
Alyss: Actually, she reminds me a bit of myself at her age.
Alyss: But I need to know what happened with you on Zytemonde.
Panel 2
Medium c/u on Hayami:
Hayami: Like I said, they hit us hard and fast. One of my charges chose to play 'hero' and blow up the safe-house with himself inside. He and the coding wiz known as 'Razor' are missing and I presume they're dead.
Hayami: I grabbed Zander and we met up with the rest at the rendezvous point but were ambushed by Corbots. I don't know how they knew where to find us.
Hayami: That's also where Zander disappeared, and I'd like to know how he ended up with you.

Flashback panel showing Zander running like mad towards Alyss in the sewer. Cameos of both Alyss and Hayami in the present. Alyss looks a bit sheepish.
Alyss: Ah, my bad. I came across Zander running through the sewer like his ass was on fire.
Alyss: He was somewhat incoherent, and well, I underestimated your ability to handle the ambush. So we took off.
Hayami: Oh ye of little faith.
