Quantum Vibe

A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

What Comes Next [ Mar 18, 2024 ]

The War is Over. We Won.

The war is over, but This Means War has a ways to go. Novo Paolo/Bubbleopolis is still in a nebula/stellar nursery, no one knows what happened to the planet Sharen (center of the Intergalactic Council), and the status of the now-surrendered Invaders is yet to be resolved. What will they do when they learn their homeworld is basically destroyed? Will Alyss and Li be re-united? How about Diana (the real one) and Otto?

These questions will be resolved in the next few weeks, before This Means War part 3 wraps in late May.

After that, I plan to go BACK in time about 400 years, to when Alyss and Li left their home in the Sol System to colonize a new world on the far side of the galaxy. As one might expect, hijinks ensue. New subtitle yet to be determined, start date sometime in around the start of July. Stay tuned!

Transcript For Strip 1402

Panel 1
Bok, Murphy, Nicole, Hugo and Monty. Nicole is listening raptly to Bok now.
Bok: … and suddenly your face, or something like it, appeared on the main viewscreen.
Bok: You … it … explained that you were now the Central Intelligence of Zytemonde.
Hugo (thoughtsend): That won't end well, you know.
Murphy (thoughtsend): Hush.
Panel 2
Flashback to the bridge of the Eva Jeanne: Elric, Zander and Bok are stunned by the sudden turn of events.
Alyss (OP): I didn't really expect things to work out this way.
Alyss: Going down personally to ask the Central Intelligence to set up an on-going transfer of misfits was a ruse.
Alyss: The plan was to interface directly with the planetary Master Processor, and do a bit of hacking.

Panel 3
Show Alyss' avatar on the viewscreen.
Alyss: I hadn't expected Hayami to show up at a critical moment.
Alyss: She was literally squeezing the life out of me. I didn't have time to do subtle brain-surgery.
Alyss: So I came up with a new plan on the spot.
Panel 4
Show Elric, Zander and Bok reacting in horror to what they're hearing.
Alyss: To put it simply, I took over the Central Intelligence.
Alyss: Unfortunately doing so completely ruined my physical brain.
Alyss: I can't go back to Oz with you, at least not in body.
Panel 5
Hayami, encased in a sort of cocoon, pops onto the bridge deck in front of the viewscreen.
Alyss: I'm sending you an information packet explaining everything.
Alyss: Monty will know what to do with it.
Alyss: I'm also sending you this piece of garbage.
Panel 6
Show the boys looking down at the supine form of Hayami, who is glaring back at them.
Alyss: She owes me a moral debt, that can be paid back in Oz.
Alyss: She's also extremely dangerous, so whatever you do, don't losen her bonds.
Caption (Bok): 'And then we came home.'
