To boldly go where no manic pixie dream girl has gone before.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Eithne peering at her holo-screen. In the center is a close-up of the planet's surface, showing a small compound of geometric structures.
Eithne: Those are definitely artificial structures!
Eithne: How the heck did Hugo miss this?
Eithne: Hmmm... Well, they are made from local materials ...
Panel 2
Medium c/u on Eithne, thinking hard.
Eithne: And there's no infrared or EM signature. The place looks dead.
Eithne: I wonder if I should disturb Murphy and Hugo?
Panel 3
Cut to Murphy and Hugo in their quarters, at the climax of coitus. (Hugo riding frontal cowboy)
Murphy: OGAHDOGAHDOGAHDOGAHDOGAAHHHDD!!!
Hugo: NNYAAAAHHUUHH!!!
Panel 4
Murphy and Hugo laying next to each other in post-coital glow.
Hugo: So you like my, ah, enhancement after all?
Murphy: Once … once I got used to it … yes.
Murphy: I don't know whether to promote Eithne or throw her in the brig.
Panel 5
Closer shot of the pair, smiling tenderly at one another.
Hugo: Well, we don't have a brig, so I suppose you'll have to promote her.
Murphy: To what, ensign? Coxswain?
Hugo: Heh-heh. There's always ...
Panel 6
The pair are interrupted by a thought-send alert from Eithne.
Eithne (OP thought-send): HEY BOYS AND GIRLS, LOOK SHARP! WE HAVE COMPANY!
