Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Nicole and Seamus are settling into their seats from the overhead hatch on the shuttle. We can see the Android driver in the pilot's seat. Seamus's eyes look strange, and Nicole is guiding him in.
Seamus: My sight's improving slightly, but not fast enough.
Seamus: Nicole, you're going to have to manage for me.
Nicole: Just a sec and you'll be strapped in.
Panel 2
Seamus has pulled his Screen, currently smart-phone sized, out of a coat pocket and is handing to Nicole.
Seamus: I meant, you'll have to manage Watson here.
Nicole: Your Screen? What's this for?
Seamus: Strap yourself in and I'll explain.
Panel 3
Nicole now has 'Watson' enlarged to about 10x15 cm and is touching its face with one finger. We can see Seamus in the background-right, with a hand over his eyes.
Seamus: Now, open the programs for 'RANGER,' 'EMP-F' and 'LSR-S' – their icons are in the lower right.
Nicole: And these are for what?
Panel 4
Close-up on Seamus – his hand is lowered, and we see his eyes are still afflicted.
Seamus: For getting us home alive.
