To boldly go where no manic pixie dream girl has gone before.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Murphy, Hugo and Eithne meet in a corridor. Hugo is in a variation of his usual attire. Murphy is looking corporate-professional. Eithne is wearing something an outfit at once glamorous, elegant, and revealing. With a fairly large and ornate necklace.
Murphy: I thought we'd agreed to 'dress to impress.'
Hugo: I always dress to impress.
Eithne: You didn't say what sort of impression we want to make. This is my 'Empress Gliceria' outfit.
Panel 2
Murphy, Hugo and Eithne entering one of the ship's 'hoppers.'
Murphy: You are certain the ship will be secure in our absence?
Hugo: I am certainly certain. The Oresme and Miyaki shields combined will thwart their transmat beams.
Eithne: I have sent another log-cock with the latest update. And we all have our micro-hoppers, uh, inserted, for just in case.
Panel 3
Inside the hopper (which looks like the inside of an elevator, but with a lot of 'round things'), the trio prepares for departure.
Murphy: You're certain we have the correct coordinates?
Hugo: Triple-checked. It's an open space near their central hall, and our hosts have cleared a 100-meter-square area for us.
Eithne: We don't want to make too dramatic an entrance.
Murphy: I think your outfit is more than dramatic enough.
