A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1Murphy and Hugo begin running up a corridor.
Murphy: What happened?
Hugo: Most likely her micro-hopper failed. She'd be back where we left her.

Murphy's next words are interrupted when one of a pair of Fftpplts, one male, one female, from the Pbbttppbt-ff fires a beam-weapon from behind, striking her in the back.
Murphy: We have to go back we … AAUGH!!
SFX: ZZEEROW!
Hugo: Murphy!
Panel 3
Hugo, now cradling Murphy in his arms, runs away from the attackers at high speed as they continue firing and missing.
Hugo (thought): How in the 'Verse did those farts get through our shields?
Hugo (thought): They're obviously more clever than I thought.
