A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Transcript For Strip 1712
Panel 1Back in realspace, Hugo re-enters the alcove where Murphy is waiting with the 'unconscious' Eithne and Theo.
Hugo: Don't. Say. A … what in the world?
Murphy: She assigned me to guard-dog duty and plugged herself into his brain.
Panel 2
Hugo looks Eithne over.
Hugo: You rash, reckless child!
Hugo: And curse me for falling asleep at the wrong moment!
Hugo: Well, there's only one thing to do now.
Panel 3
Hugo has moved over to the Interface panel and is sticking his left hand into the orifice. Murphy looks even more worried.
Hugo: Theo may be damaged but he may still have enough of my guile and experience to be more than a match for Eithne.
Hugo: Even with these gamer-gods backing her play.

Murphy tries to speak with Hugo but he is now stock-still as a statue, completely immersed in the Cush network.
Murphy: Are you sure this is a good idea? Remember what happened last time you did this …
Murphy: … Hugo? HUGO?
