Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1
Lorelei smirks at the other three while they recover from the surprise entrance.
Lorelei: You guys have been popping around the universe for 500 years, I'd think you'd be used to this sort of thing.
Alyss: I take it you've never heard of PTSD.
Caption: Lorelei deCleyre, at a mere 243 years, is the youngest of the city's civic leaders, known collectively as 'The Pillars.'
Panel 2
Four-shot of Lorelei, Alyss, Murphy, Hugo
Lorelei: Of course I have. But none of you was here when the Gran Raio happened.
Alyss: No, but we've been directly involved in three to five previous shooting wars.
Hugo: And besides, we're all under stress now, and so we're a bit jumpy.
Panel 3
Same scene, now Lorelei is focused on Hugo.
Lorelei: My parents kept me well away from the last big galactic war, it's true.
Lorelei: None of my children and grandchildren have known that level of chaos.
Lorelei: Let's see that they don't have to now.
Panel 4
Hugo smiles gently in return.
Hugo: Well said, my dear.
Hugo: Now, may I presume you have some purpose for popping in just now?
Lorelei: Well, actually I get a jolly out of making you guys jump like that.
