Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
We Now Return You To Your Regularly Scheduled Program. [ Mar 1, 2021 ]
Texas has returned to more normal winter weather conditions, power is back on and Internet connections are working. Which means Scott has new Quantum Vibe strips ready to go this week. We appreciate everyone's understanding and patience as we emerged from hibernation.
And if you haven't already, please help us keep the lights on by buying Quantum Vibe books (in print or digital) along with any of Big Head Press's other thoughtful stories.
Panel 1
Alyss and the Pillars are in their small meeting room, seated in a semi-circle around the table. (Lorelei to Alyss' left, Jorge to her right) Above the center we see a hologram of Sergio's head and shoulders.
Caption: Not long afterward, the Pillars assembled.
Alyss: What did you mean, 'better than I hoped, but worse than I feared?'
Panel 2
Focus on Sergio's hologram image.
Sergio: In my opinion she is telling us what she believes to be true.
Sergio: And given that her DNA and cerebro-scan match, and that there is no one else around claiming her identity …
Sergio: Then by our laws she really is the Diana Martelli we've known and worked with.
Sergio: Even though she's an unauthorized clone and likely an enemy plant.
Panel 3
Pull back to show all the Pillars -- Alyss and Lorelei, who both look chagrined, the others looking thoughtful.
Alyss: What about the weird gaps in her memory?
Sergio: Those can be explained by the damage to her implant. The hardware/wetware interface is complicated, as we all know.
Panel 4
Medium shot on Alyss, looking like she's cornered.
Sergio: This means all recoverable property belongs to her.
Sergio: This would include the back-up she presumably kept in the house where she lived before the Gran Raio.
Sergio: Do you know what happened to it, Senhora?
