Quantum Vibe

A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

What Comes Next [ Mar 18, 2024 ]

The War is Over. We Won.

The war is over, but This Means War has a ways to go. Novo Paolo/Bubbleopolis is still in a nebula/stellar nursery, no one knows what happened to the planet Sharen (center of the Intergalactic Council), and the status of the now-surrendered Invaders is yet to be resolved. What will they do when they learn their homeworld is basically destroyed? Will Alyss and Li be re-united? How about Diana (the real one) and Otto?

These questions will be resolved in the next few weeks, before This Means War part 3 wraps in late May.

After that, I plan to go BACK in time about 400 years, to when Alyss and Li left their home in the Sol System to colonize a new world on the far side of the galaxy. As one might expect, hijinks ensue. New subtitle yet to be determined, start date sometime in around the start of July. Stay tuned!

Transcript For Strip 2346

Panel 1
Cut to: Achal Verma in his office, conferring with Kāng Min-Chèng and Dominic Martello
Caption: One day earlier:
Verma: I fortified the Libby Building just as you recommended, made it ‘as impregnable as possible,’ to your specification.
Verma: And now, you want to know how to break in?
Panel 2
Kang, Dominic, and Achal.

Dominic: Near as we can tell someone left a back door open.
Kāng: It was a well-coordinated strike. The ‘Libérateurs’ began flooding-in within minutes after the control center was taken.

Panel 3
Kang, Dominic, and Achal.

Achal: The Borvonite casing can withstand any impact or shock we might be able to throw at it.
Achal: And the Miyaki/Oresme shields are the very latest certified designs from Deslocação Dinámico .
Achal: So ... Dominic?

Panel 4
Dominic’s usual smirk is gone as he gets deadly serious, and maybe a bit guilty.

Dominic: There is a way through the shields.
Dominic: A flaw in the basic system architecture we’ve known about for years but haven’t been able to fix.
Dominic: Y’gotta keep this confidential, okay?

Panel 5
Kang, Dominic, and Achal.

Dominic: Hit the target with a 45 giga-amp EMP at around 1200 teraherz.
Dominic: This will create a harmonic reaction with the building’s electro-gravity and cause the shields to collapse for about four seconds.

Panel 6
Kang, Dominic, and Achal.

Dominic: How many boots can you pop-in during that interval?
Kāng: Enough.
