Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1
Kāng and Horton approach the main Displacer-Net portal for the building. It consists of three hexagonal doorways with a small enclosed operations booth to the side.
Horton: How do we shut this thing down?
Kāng: That control booth ...
Panel 2
Suddenly more Libérateurs emerge from the three doorways and begin firing at Kāng and Horton.
Kāng: 他妈的!
Panel 3
Kāng resumes the whirling-blade move, ZANGs bouncing off.
Kāng: Better to capture this asset, if we can, than destroy it with a lightning bolt.
Kāng: Can you bounce a grenade around my shield?
Panel 4
Split panel: in first smaller part, we see Horton throwing the grenade. In the second part we see it bounce off a wall and directly towards the invaders.
Horton: Yessir.
SFX: TK!
Panel 5
The grenade explodes, throwing the squad of invaders back just as more begin to emerge from the portals.
SFX: BWAMM!
Panel 6
Looking past Kāng and Horton at the portals. A pile of dazed/unconscious Libérateurs lie before the portals, through which more invaders are beginning to emerge.
Kāng: This reminds me of the ancient fable about ‘the marching Chinese.’
