Dark plans fall like thunderbolts.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Kāng, Horton and Burdon advance along another corridor.
Kāng: How much farther?
Horton: Not far … another left, turn, a right turn, then a down turn ...
Panel 2
Kāng and Burdon stand at the precipice of a vertical intersection. Horton has already crossed it and is now oriented 90 degrees, to the intersecting corridor.
Kāng: Gad. I hate these 7th century designs.
Horton: Under the circumstances, this is better for us than drop tubes or lifts.
Panel 3
All three are walking along a ‘down’ corridor when they come upon another large group of Libérateurs.
Kāng: I’ve had enough of this.
Panel 4
Instead of forming the electric shield Kāng charges directly into the group, swords cutting them to pieces like twin buzz-saws.
Kāng: Yaaaaaaa!!!!
SFX: [multiple CHOPs]
Panel 5
Kāng, Horton and Burdon survey their work: a pile of charred and chopped-up men and arms.
Burdeon: This is … a lot less bloody than I would expect.
Kāng: The electro-blades cauterize flesh as it slices.
Panel 6
Kāng, Horton, Burdon continue down the corridor
Burdon: It certainly makes clean-up easier, later.
Kang: I’m not a barbarian.
