Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)

Panel 1The bad guys’ HQ, as we saw previously. Amelia Orme-Colbert is behind the desk.The map behind her shows a reversal in the Invaders’ fortunes. Alain Severin and Jean-Luc Macron are standing before her.
Caption: At the Invaders’ make-shift headquarters
Severin: The good news is that their casualties are almost 20 percent greater than ours.
Panel 2
Amelia pounds her desk
Orme-Colbert: Good news? They out-number us 100 to 1 and we are cut off from our supplies and relief!
Orme-Colbert: Until that changes we need to even the odds or we’ll be dead in less than 10 days!
Panel 3
Macron and Severin
Macron: At least we’ve figured out that what we thought was an ‘energy barrier’ is a gaseous nebula in a distant galaxy.
Severin: For all the good that does us. We’re out of range of any comm network, we can’t cross the city’s Oresme shield going outward, and we still don’t know where in the universe we are.

Focus on Amelia
Orme-Colbert: So, the enemy shield house is so well-defended we can’t get to it, and we’re rapidly losing our heavier weaponry.
Orme-Colbert: We need to hit some softer targets.
Orme-Colbert: These cappies don’t fear death because their medical tech makes them almost immortal.
Orme-Colbert: So, we start destroying their hospitals.
Panel 5
Severin and Macron look shocked.
Macron: The hospitals! That will only serve to amplify the resistance!
Severin: And it will gain us very little tactically.
Panel 6
Amelia leans forward forcefully.
Orme-Colbert: This is no time for customary niceties! This is war! It’s them, or us!
Orme-Colbert: Once they see they won’t be healed they’ll remember their fear of death, and capitulate.
Orme-Colbert: Now, carry out my orders!
