A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Alyss narrates:’I swallowed my pride and called Li.’
Li (electronic): What! Are you ok?
Panel 2
Nicole inside the cruiser compartment.
Nicole: I’m fine, but I don’t think this boat will fly again.
Li (electronic): I can come and get you in the cruiser.
Panel 3
Cut to Li, looking distraught.
Nicole (electronic): No, I don’t want you to leave the kids alone at night.
Nicole: I’m dry, and safe here. Come get me in the morning.
Panel 4
Back to Nicole
Li (electronic): Okay, the homing beacon on the flyer is active, so I can find you.
Nicole: I’ll just take a little nap here -- I’ll be fine.
Panel 5
Nicole is startled to see Li’s face looming through the windscreen.
Alyss narrates: ‘I had just drifted off to sleep when I was startled awake by Li’s arrival.’
Panel 6
Aboard the cruiser, Nicole, Li, and both kids, all wearing rain gear. Brielle hugging Nicole tightly.
Nicole: I told you to wait until morning.
Li: I’m not great at following orders.
