A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1Li and Nicole in the kitchen (she is stirring something in a pot on the stove.
Nicole: Can you be serious for a moment?
Li: All right. He wants to bring some hybrid rock-eating bugs to our valley.

Li and Nicole
Nicole: Rock-eating bugs?
Li: The idea is they chomp the rocks into soil suitable for agriculture.
Nicole: I can see how that might be useful.

Li and Nicole (pulling a pan of something out of the oven)
Nicole: Are they hazardous? Novo Palermo is free of dangerous fauna.
Li: Except for humans, of course.
Li: But yes, there’s a danger, and that’s why he wants to chat with you.

Li and Nicole (who is pulling four dishes out of a cabinet.
Li: He hopes you can find a way to safely corral them, or otherwise neutralize the potential danger.
Li: Our settlement contract prohibits bringing dangerous animals to the planet.

Li and Nicole, who is laying the stack of dishes on the table
Li: Anyway, he’ll be here around 17:00 or so.
Li: And no dietary restrictions that I’m aware of. But I’ll double-check.

Nicole: You do that.
Nicole: Now, call the kids down and they can help set the table.
Nicole: Make sure they wash their hands. You, too.
