Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1Seamus, Nicole, Ventura and Buford are again walking along a city street. Buford is loudly blowing her nose into a handkerchief someone has provided.
Buford: HONK!
Nicole: How could Buford be sick? She checked out fine at L-5 City and had all her vaccs.
Panel 2

Seamus: It's possible a new strain has developed which is immune to our prophylactics.
Seamus: But given the season, I think it more likely this is an allergy.

Nicole: Season? Allergy?
Seamus: Up to now you and Buford have only experienced closed, filtered environments.
Seamus: But Huoxing has a natural ecosystem, derived from Terra's.

Seamus: Suffice to say, at certain times of the year various plants and fungi generate trillions of airborne spores and pollen grains ...
Buford: ut-CHOO!!!
Seamus: Which plague certain unfortunates whose mucous membranes are sensitive to them.

The quartet approaches the entrance to an apothecary shop.
Buford: Wait, is this the Apothecary's? How did you find it so easily?
Nicole: His implant.
Nicole: He called up a local directory from the Network and got directions.
Panel 6
Inside the shop, the quartet passes by some display shelves full of various nostrums.
Seamus: If you'll put your visor on, that and your earpiece will give you a similar capability.
Buford: I hate that visor -- it makes me look stupid.
Panel 7
Seamus is now standing at a counter, behind which is a female Huoxingian of Han extraction. Buford is right behind him, holding a small box of something.
Seamus:
Buford: Hey, what about this?
Panel 8
The apothecary doesn't quite suppress a giggle as she looks at the box. Buford is chagrined, Seamus and Nicole are grinning.
Shopkeeper: {hee-hee}
Buford: What?
Nicole: The visor's real-time translations help you NOT look stupid.
