Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1
The quartet emerges from the Apothecary shop. Buford, now wearing her visor, is holding a small pill-bottle and examining it.
Nicole: Feeling better, Buford?
Buford: I t'ink so.
Buford: Chinese writing sure packs a lot of words in a small space.
Panel 2
The quartet moves up the street, focus on Nicole and Seamus.
Nicole: So, now back to the designer's?
Seamus: He likely won't be ready for us for another hour. Let's get some lunch first.
Panel 3
They pause near the entrance of a restaurant named (in Mandarese) The White Lion. Seamus is peering at a smaller sign near the entry door.
Buford: What about this place? It smells yummy.
Seamus: It does, but I'm afraid this place isn't for us.
Nicole: Why not?
Panel 4
From Buford's POV, Seamus is pointing to the small sign. The visor provides an English translation in a pop-up bubble: Beltapes Not Welcome. And to drive the point home, a small graphic of a Beltape profile overlaid by the familiar circle-with-slash 'prohibited' symbol.
Nicole: Oh.
