Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Back in the drawing room, a largish holoscreen has appeared in front of the fireplace.
Peng-Bo: So, how many other shareholders are there?
Seamus: Only three -- one at L-5 City now, one on Gannymede and one on Hyperion.
Panel 2
Two-shot of Xie-Po and Peng-Bo. The former looks alarmed, the latter, annoyed.
Xie-Po: Gannymede! Hyperion? That's one of Saturn's moons!
Xie-Po: It takes more than 22 huofen for a signal to reach Gannymede, and 63 huofen to reach Saturn!*

Seamus is smiling smugly
Seamus: A bit more than 64 huofen, actually, since Saturn is nearly opposite Sol from us now.
Xie-Po (OP): Gaah!

Peng-Bo: I propose we dispense with small talk and get this done with two exchanges with Hyperion. That way we're not here more than 26 or 27 huoke*
