Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
The corridor, which has a very slightly curved floor, outside Nicole's apartment. On a nearby wall there's a large logo: SG-2. It indicates the type and intensity of gravity in the corridor. (SG=spin gravity; EG=electro gravity; number is intensity in 10ths of a Standard Gravity). There's a landing-pad for the Bubb, the front of which has opened up. With her travel bag on her shoulder, she steps out.
Nicole (thought): What the shuck is Philbert up to, not answering my ping?
Panel 2
As she stands in front of the door, typing a key-code into the door-look with her right hand, the Bubb shrinks (we series of strobed outlines) down to a flat spheroid about 10cm in diameter and flies into her left hand which is reaching out for it, in a well-practiced move.
Nicole: If he'd been in an accident, Ida been notified, wouldn't I?
Panel 3
Interior of Nicole's apartment, the front room. The wall we see is dominated by a sofa, a desk-station, and many built-in bookshelves featuring some books but mostly various curios, nick-nacks, etc. There's a bit of lived-in clutter, but the place is mostly neat. There's a Screen propped up next to a set of oddly empty shelves.
Nicole: What the –?
Panel 4
Looking over Nicole's shoulder from a few feet back and up – she's reading the Screen, which is set to 18x24 centimeters. On the screen is an avatar of Philbert, with accompanying text.
Text: Dear Nicole: It's been great but it's time to end. I've met someone special who wants to help me and has the contacts I will need to finally realize the dream [continues].
