A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Transcript For Strip 540
Panel 1Back in Xin Rizhao, in Cheif Ho Rai-Chiu's office. Ho is seated behind his desk, as Lu Richang and Agent Du-Ken stand before him.
Chief Ho: What do you have for me?
Lu: The two surviving jackers are still in their vats, but we're pretty sure now it wasn't them who killed Mr. Ma.
Panel 2
Three-shot of Ho, Lu and Du-Ken.
Ho: So who is our suspect?
Lu: Well, we found a Ma-shaped impression in the ground located 15 meters away from where we found the body.
Lu: Along with BeltApe-shaped footprints.
Panel 3
Looking past Lu at Ho, who looks a bit alarmed.
Ho: He was body-slammed by a BeltApe?
Lu: Looks like it. Then moved to the other alley, and probably had the shovel placed in his hand.
Panel 4
Looking past Ho at Lu and Du-Ken.
Ho: Any lead on who this BeltApe might be?
Du-Ken: We have some reports of a female belt-ape bounding across the roof-tops, in the general direction of that alley.
Panel 5
Du-Ken hands Ho a Screen with an image of Nicole, Murphy and Buford at the Xin Rizhao tube terminal. This is from when Buford hurt her back, and Nicole and Buford are helping her get to a cab.
Du-Ken: The description of her clothing matches the BeltApe in this photo, taken at the Tube Terminal.
Ho: With Nicole Oresme and that android again. But the Ape doesn't look to be in great shape.
Panel 6
Medium close-up on Du-Ken.
Du-Ken: My people are checking into that.
Du-Ken: But my trace on Oresme shows that she arrived on Huoxing in the company of none other than Dr. Seamus O'Murchadha.
Ho (OP): The science guy?

Looking past Du-Ken and Lu at Ho. He's looking a bit overwhelmed.
Du-Ken: The same. They attended a soiree at the late Po Xu-ke estate, which is now owned by his nephews Tong Xie-Po and Ma Bo-Nu. Or I guess, just Tong now.
Ho: Tian Na ...
Panel 8
Medium close-up on Ho, fingers pressed against the side of his head as if he has a headache.
Ho: This is getting dangerously above our pay-grade.
Ho: Keep digging, but I need to consult my superiors on this one.
