Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)

Nicole (thought): OK, got the distress call on automated repeat.
Nicole (thought): Murphy is STILL out cold.

Nicole: I need to get to her.
Nicole: But this suit doesn't have thrusters. How can I ...

In the lower left of the panel, a close-up of Nicole having an 'ah-hah' moment. In the rest of the panel, a memory shot of her getting knocked backward when she fired her new handgun.
Nicole: !
Panel 4
Nicole draws the gun from its holster on her carry-all belt. She eyes it cautiously.
Nicole: Will this really work?
Panel 5
Holding the gun with both hands, she presses the butt against the right side of her solar plexus, turning her head to look back towards Murphy, who is behind to her left.
Nicole: Gotta position this so I move the right way and don't go tumbling.
Panel 6
Same shot – the gun fires, Nicole's legs flare out a bit.
Nicole: In space, no one can hear you shoot from the hip.
Panel 7
Nicole is now noticeably closer to Murphy.
Nicole: It's working! But I'm gonna miss if I can't …

Nicole reaches out and grabs Murphy by the ankle.
Nicole: … Grab her.
